Registration for individual sessions with animals’ participation in the lower silesian animal-assisted therapy center
25.09.2023
We invite people with intellectual disability or autism living in the Lower Silesian voivodeship to individual session with the participation of animals; this initiative is a part of the Lower Silesian Animal-Assisted Therapy Center project. Prospective participants can take place in 6 free sessions of canine-assisted therapy, alpaca-assisted therapy and equine-assisted therapy; there is a possibility to choose 2 therapy options with 3 sessions of each modality (e.g., 3 canine-assisted therapy session and 3 alpaca-assisted ones). All sessions are held in Wrocław-Świniary, and the agendas are set systematically with the therapists. During the sessions, we perform activities developing and strengthening self-reliance; the participants also practice orientation in an area not familiar to them (e.g., the compound of the center or within the corral) as well as perform activities related to animal care (e.g., preparing food, grooming or preparations for taking for a walk). We teach how to react to animals’ needs.
